He looks like a German shepherd, but his coat is uncharacteristically brown and his ears are floppy. Dogs in northern communities can be unique to an area. The dominate type of dog here is husky and many of them have floppy ears, unlike southern huskies. At some point, a lab or retriever was mixed into the gene pool. Or maybe it’s a mutation?
Brown escorts me to school every morning, home for lunch, back to school, and then walks me back to school again at the end of the school day. I’ve never given him treats, only praise and conversation. I heels proudly at my side and barks at other dogs, sending them out of the way.
I don’t understand dog, but I know Brown’s saying:
“Look at me! I have a human to walk! Aren’t we great!”
